I just adore this family. You’ll probably recognize them from the past few years of sessions which started just before Ryan was born. Watching this little family change and grown has been a true blessing. Plus, they’re some of the easiest folks to photograph. When we met for a session in anticipation of baby sister Harper, big brother Ryan was not having it at first (as you can see from a few of the pictures near the middle of this post)! But after a little warming up, he came around, and we captured some beautiful moments of the three (*four) of them all together. I’m not the only one excited to meet their newest addition!

I’ll be quick to admit that I know next to nothing about motorcycles, but when Larry called me about doing a session for a magazine feature on his bike I was excited. Turns out Larry has an absolutely gorgeous Harley and paired with some beautiful spring weather, we got some really spectacular shots. I can’t wait to see the official feature!

Florida can be a magical place without a doubt. . . palm trees, sunshine, Disney World. So what better excuse for a quick family session than a first visit to the land of the mouse? That’s exactly what we did for this lovely Hoosier family, and I’m so glad they let me hijack a few hours of their precious vacation. Since Julie is a photographer by trade, the whole family knew the drill and were super easy to work with during our shoot. Plus, Ashton is about the cutest thing to visit Florida and seeing him experience sand in the midst of a week full of magical moments was the cherry on top.

Oh my goodness. . . let’s talk about this gorgeous family! Adorable. Easy-going. Flexible on shoot. And, completely at ease in front of the camera. They’re simply fantastic in every single shot. It makes my job an absolute breeze that Amanda and Ryan are such wonderful, laid-back parents — they were totally fine when we had little Ryan playing in the sand and crawling all over campus at Rollins. We were even able to recreate some of our favorite shots from little Ryan’s newborn session last year, and it’s incredible to see how much he’s grown up already! Happy first birthday little man!

To write a long post about Carlos’ session would be a bit ironic since he’s generally a pretty quiet and reserved person. That fact alone makes me feel exceptionally pleased that I managed to coax at least a few genuine smiles out of him. And, since Carlos is a professional dancer by trade we had to take at least one photo swinging from a lamp-post a la Gene Kelly.

After Amanda & Ryan’s beautiful maternity session, I was beyond excited to meet little Ryan. Luckily I didn’t have to wait too long! Just a few short days after he came home from the hospital, Ryan had his first official photo shoot, and I’m convinced he’s got a future in modeling. One of my favorite things about newborn photography is that it’s really easy to do at home which makes things more comfortable for baby and more convenient for mom and dad. We were able to do a bunch of different outfits and for the most part Baby Ryan tolerated all the fuss. We even got some lovely photos of the family all together just in time for their very first Christmas together!

One of the very best things about this job is getting to share (if only for a moment) in so many exciting events and stories in my clients’ lives. Amanda and Ryan’s session really made me realize that in a unique way. I met Amanda several years ago back in Michigan, and by a series of happenstance occurrences we’ve both ended up living in central Florida now. So of course, I was thrilled when she messaged me to talk about maternity and baby photos. These two were a great couple to work with — easy-going, loving, and totally comfortable in front of the camera. Plus, it was obvious just how excited and ready they are for baby Ryan to arrive. I had a hard time narrowing down choices for their blog post, and I’m sure that means we’ll have just as many stunning images once their little one arrives! I can’t wait to meet him!
