These two ❤ Let’s just start by saying that when one of your second shooters calls you to shoot her wedding you get a little bit giddy! I was so honored that Katie wanted me to be a part of her big day especially since I know how well she understands all the ins and outs of a wedding day (and is a fabulous second to work with on all fronts). She and Matt are an infinite amount of fun – as was their wedding party – and despite some touch and go weather, they were both calm and clearly enjoying themselves throughout the day. The morning was full of beautiful details, sweet gestures, and funny moments that really set the tone for the rest of the day, and I hope for the rest of Matt and Katie’s marriage. I could go on and on about this couple and what a blast their wedding was, but perhaps it’s better to just let the pictures speak for themselves. Congrats and much love to the new Mr. and Mrs.

Sessions with past wedding couples are one of my favorite things. Weddings are magical and beautiful, but taking time to do an anniversary session a year after the big day can be a chance for a more relaxed experience. I love that an anniversary shoot is also an opportunity for a couple to reconnect and reminisce about their first year or marriage. These two were such a treat on their lovely wedding day AND during our twilight summer session. What a treat to see both their little family and their beautiful relationship growing month by month!

What’s not to love about a wedding full of such beautiful details, in a beautiful setting, with a beautiful couple? The correct answer is nothing, and I wasn’t the only one loving every moment of Brendan and Brett’s gorgeous day. These two are the epitome of a perfect compliment as a couple, and it shows clearly in their photos. They were absolutely enveloped by the warmth of their friends and family from parents and siblings to extended family to a large contingent from their alma mater. I don’t doubt that these two will continue to cultivate a wonderful community and beautiful relationship for many many years to come. I’m just honored that I could be there to watch them start this newest chapter together!

Though almost all weddings are wonderful and a blessing to be a part of, this particular day was especially sweet for me. The weather was beautiful (if a little hot), the details and decor were lovely, the guests and bridal party were lively and fun, but the real joy I found in this day was watching one of my oldest college friends marry the love of his life. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and watching this couple grow in their relationship from the beginning, and I am so very happy that they’re ready to take on this new life adventure together. These two laugh often both at and with one another; a sure sign that they have a long and very happy future ahead. I, for one, am excited to see what that future may hold!
Congratulations and thank you for trusting me to be a part of such a beautiful celebration! ❤

Senior portraits aren’t always the highlight of any young man’s summer plans, but Anthony was a good sport, and we even had some fun during his warm summer session. Cathedral High School is one of the most picturesque campuses in Indianapolis especially in August when the trees are full and green. Despite the mosquitos and warm temperature, we managed to get some great shots! Congrats on what I’m sure will be a fantastic senior year Anthony.

Since I’ve had the advantage of knowing Nick & Carrie for a few years, I was certain their engagement session would be a breeze. And it was! We were lucky to avoid most of the rain showers and even got some great photos on campus at Alma College where these two first met. A few of my favorite things about this adorable duo: the way Carrie’s nose wrinkles when Nick makes her laugh, the absolutely absurd things Nick does to prompt that laugh, and how willing they were to give every goofy idea of mine a try. I was thrilled when they called me about setting up an engagement session, and I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding next year! I’m so happy for you two — here’s to many more years of fun and laughter.

Tradition says that rain on the day of a wedding is a good omen — depending on the source, it’s said to be a sign of fertility, renewal, and unity…which is all well and good, unless you’re having an outdoor ceremony in a location without a lot of indoor options. I have to give this couple props though! Despite the constant state of drizzle outside, both Summer and Joe were calm and rolled with the last minute changes and adaptations to their plans. Not that I’m particularly surprised — you may recognize these two from their engagement session last summer — this couple is so grounded in their love for one another. Gorgeous details, an energetic wedding party, and a happy crowd of family and friends helped make the day perfectly lovely despite the weather. I think it’s an even better omen that we were rewarded at the end of the evening with a gorgeous spread of sunset colors. Congratulations and here’s to many anniversaries (rainy and otherwise)!
