This past weekend Yale Baseball commemorated its 150th birthday. The occasion was marked in part by a friendly-fire game under the lights of historic Yale Field. Players from both teams donned historic “throwback” kits and hats which gave the whole experience the feel of a real life Field of Dreams scene. The stadium itself is a testament to the long traditions of the University, and its dated (and in spots slightly dilapidated) features were just too picturesque to pass up.
I’m incredibly proud that my baby brother is not only a student at such a prestigious university, but also a member of an athletic tradition that dates back so many decades. Here’s to a successful year and season for the bulldogs!
